Medicare Dental Plans can be purchased from private health insurance companies who offer dental insurance for those on medicare Part A and Part B.
Medicare Dental Questions:
Typically, routine dental coverage is not covered by Original Medicare (Part A and B). However, there are some exceptions to this rule. You may be able to get dental coverage through a Medicare Advantage Plan. However emergency and complicated dental procedures that require a hospital stay, Medicare Part A covers the hospital stay but not the dental procedure.
Medicare does not cover dental implants at this time. That means that Medicare beneficiaries need to purchase additional dental coverage or find a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan that offers additional dental coverage.
Medicare Advantage Plans may offer Dental Benefits ar part of their extended benefits.
You can buy private dental insurance if available especially if you are on Medigap Plan. You may also choose a medicare advantage plan that has dental benefits.
